The Lamarr Institute for Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence in the Faculty of Computer Science at TU Dortmund University is looking for an IT System Administrator to start as soon as possible. The position is open-ended. The position is remunerated according to pay group 10 TV-L. This is a full-time position. Employment in or reduction to part-time is possible in principle.

YOUR TASKS:

  • Support of the institute's hardware infrastructure, including GPU computing clusters
  • Maintenance of the operating software and software stack, DevOps and container technologies as well as the service infrastructure
  • Organization and support of network operations and network services (mail etc.)
  • Procurement of IT equipment for the institute and its employees
  • Communication with the central IT departments of the university and faculty
  • Onboarding and familiarizing new employees with the software and hardware infrastructure

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A university degree in computer science or a related subject or completed vocational training as an IT specialist for system integration or comparable training and at least three years of professional experience building on this

WHAT YOU IDEALLY BRING WITH YOU:

  • comprehensive knowledge of the IT system administration of Linux systems
  • Experience with container, DevOps and web technologies, for example Docker, Podman or Kubernetes
  • Knowledge of network infrastructure and user administration (LDAP, FreeIPA or similar)
  • the ability to grasp complex issues and problems and find solutions independently
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • a structured, analytical and independent way of working
